"Mr. Bolton's knack for teaming up with fresh, young artists and skimming the cream of the crop is illustrated in some of the new material from his latest CD, Gems. After all, he has been at it for many years and many artists' voices tend to suffer. I enjoyed the mix of old, new, covers, and allowing his very talented band to have the spotlight at various times during the show. Make plans to spend a fun evening out with friends or reminisce with your special someone as you listen to an often underrated artist if Mr. Bolton is performing in your area. He did not disappoint at my first Zach Top concert. He sounded just as clear and clean as he did 20+ years ago. He made light of some very funny and silly requests that generated from various audience members. The best part for me was that he did a mix of old, new, covers and allowed his very talented band to have the spotlight at various times during the show. His recent parody/performance of the Lonely Island Jack Sparrow song on Saturday Night Live has also proven he has his tongue firmly planted in cheek! I can report that was not the case at all! His easygoing rapport with audience members who wanted to make their viewpoints known to Mr. Bolton and the rest of the house. Even his rendition of the late opera tenor and his cherished friend, Luciano Pavorotti's signature aria, Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot sounded terrific!"
